Terms of Service
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Ken Yeung (“Dossier,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of our website, web application, and browser extension (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide to us is accurate.
2. Your Account
You sign in through Google; we do not issue passwords. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Dossier account. Notify us promptly at info@thelettertwo.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. One person may not maintain more than one account except as we expressly permit.
3. The Service and Beta Status
The Service is currently offered as a free beta. It is provided for evaluation, may contain errors, and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. Features described on our site or marked “soon” may not be available, may change, or may be removed. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we will give you notice before charging you, and your continued use after a plan takes effect constitutes acceptance.
4. Your Content
“Your Content” means the information you enter or connect to the Service — your job-search records, notes, contacts, and any data brought in through the optional email-to-save feature. As between you and us, you own Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content and do not use it to train machine-learning models.
You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the right to provide it. If you record information about other people (such as professional contacts), you represent that you may lawfully do so and that you will handle that information responsibly. You are responsible for keeping your own copies; while we provide an export tool, we are not a backup service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the Service in violation of any law or the rights of others.
- Access, scan, or store information you are not authorized to access, or use the email-to-save or capture features on accounts or data that are not yours.
- Attempt to probe, scan, disrupt, overload, or breach the Service or its infrastructure, or bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
- Introduce malware, submit content designed to manipulate our AI features, or use the Service to build a competing product.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties, or use it to send unsolicited or unlawful communications.
We may investigate and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating accounts, for any suspected violation.
6. Browser Extension
The optional browser extension helps you capture postings and surface people you know. It operates only on supported job-posting pages and acts within your own signed-in browser session. Your use of the extension is also subject to the applicable browser or web-store terms. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party site you capture from.
7. AI Features
The Service offers AI-assisted features (such as job-posting analysis and news relevance) powered by a third-party provider. AI output is generated automatically, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and is provided for informational purposes only. It is not legal, employment, financial, or career advice, and you should not rely on it as your sole basis for any decision. You are responsible for how you use any AI-generated output.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third parties such as Google, Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, and Cloudflare. Your use of those integrations may be subject to the third party’s own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their acts or omissions. Links or references to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and the “Dossier” name, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal job search in accordance with these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or obligation to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive — including content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — survive termination.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA — INCLUDING AI-GENERATED OUTPUT OR EMAIL-DETECTION SUGGESTIONS — WILL BE ACCURATE. THE SERVICE DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOSSIER AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR JOB OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $100. THESE LIMITS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dossier and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Washington will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise subject to binding resolution, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship between us.
